While YVR Chapel’s volunteers are of different affiliations, most are Christians seeking to follow Jesus’ teachings and example. Two teachings from the Torah that Jesus stressed are that we should love God supremely and love our neighbour as ourselves. To love in those ways

• We seek to attend to our own spiritual growth, believing that we’re active participants with God, who invites us into friendship with him.
• We seek to practice humility, which leads to a life of freedom, gratitude, creativity, joy, and laughter.
• We seek to lean into community, honesty, openness, and attentiveness to others, as key means of personal growth.
• We seek to honour others and the unique journey each person is on and treat others as we’d like them to treat us.
• We seek to work for the good of our city and do all we can to take down the barriers society uses to divide us in so many ways.

Vancouver’s Christian community is quite diverse, with large Chinese origin and significant Filipino, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, and Korean origin components. Christians make up some 34% of Metro Vancouver’s population, with 18% being Roman Catholic. YVR Chapel aims to extend the grace of our Lord to Christians of every denomination.
