People of all faiths and no faith are welcome at the YVR Chapel. Jewish services, memorial services, and other faith celebrations happen through the year at YVR Chapel depending on the season, time and occasion.

Metro Vancouver is home to significant Sikh, Buddhist, Jewish and other faith communities. British Columbia has one of Canada’s largest Sikh communities, and Richmond, where YVR is located, has a large Buddhist community and two of Canada’s largest Buddhist temples. Many members of the airport’s workforce belong to these communities.
As Canada’s second biggest airport, YVR receives passengers, family, and friends of every religious persuasion. YVR Chapel is committed as much as possible to offering persons from every major faith group a space to pray, meditate and observe their traditions. Vancouver’s Jewish community, for example, holds an annual Hanukkah service, lighting candles to symbolize the effect even small efforts for good can have in resisting oppression. Services for other faith communities are available by special request.
YVR Chapel also welcomes persons of no faith, a demographic that’s been growing for some years in Canada. We recognize that everyone has a unique faith journey. Our goal is simply to support you as best we can on your journey. No matter your faith commitment, we aim to offer a listening ear without judgment, blame, or prescription.
