Sacred Space

Some 40 years ago, Layne Daggett found himself stranded overnight in an east coast airport, struggling to come to terms with the unexpected death of his father. There was nowhere for him to find sanctuary. When he returned to Vancouver, he founded YVR Chapel out of a desire to offer a place of welcome, support and sanctuary to travelers and employees of all faiths.

Stewarding the Chapel’s sacred space, we seek to make the chapel modestly beautiful and welcoming. A place to pause, catch your breath, and regain focus. A place where people of all faiths and no faith are welcome to converse with chapel staff, pray, meditate, or read. Anyone wanting to receive prayer can either ask one of our staff to pray with them or submit a written prayer request.
